From Texan Roots to WNBA Glory

Chennedy Carter, born November 14, 1998, is an American professional basketball player who has taken the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) by storm. Hailing from Arlington, Texas, she honed her skills at Timberview High School before being drafted into the WNBA in 2020.

Carter's journey to the WNBA was anything but ordinary. As a standout high school player, she led her team to multiple state championships and earned countless accolades. In 2017, she was named a McDonald's All-American, solidifying her status as one of the most promising players in the country.

After graduating from high school, Carter committed to the University of Texas at Austin. During her two seasons with the Longhorns, she averaged double-digit points and made an immediate impact on the team. In her sophomore year, she led Texas to the NCAA Sweet 16 and earned Big 12 All-Freshman Team honors.

In 2020, Carter declared for the WNBA draft and was selected with the fourth overall pick by the Chicago Sky. Despite missing the entire season due to injury, she quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with in 2021. Carter started all 32 games she played in and averaged 13.5 points per game.
