Indiana Fever Finalize Opening Night Roster
Roster Includes Upgrades at Key Positions
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever announced an opening night roster on Thursday in preparation for Friday's 2022 regular season. The roster features several upgrades at key positions, including the additions of recent first-round draft pick Aaliyah Boston and veteran guard Jantel Lavender.
Boston, a 6'5" center from South Carolina, was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft. She is a two-time NCAA champion and was named the SEC Player of the Year in 2022. Lavender, a 6'4" center, is a 10-year WNBA veteran who has averaged 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in her career.
The Fever also added guard Danielle Robinson, who was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Sparks. Robinson is a three-time WNBA All-Star and has averaged 11.5 points and 4.5 assists per game in her career.
With the additions of Boston, Lavender, and Robinson, the Fever have a much more talented and experienced roster than they did last season. The Fever finished 6-26 last season, but they are hoping to make a run at the playoffs this season.
The Fever will open the regular season on Friday at home against the Dallas Wings.
