Coventry City vs Manchester United: FA Cup third round preview
Sky Blues aiming to end 43-year winless streak against Red Devils
United looking to continue momentum after Carabao Cup win
Manchester United will travel to Coventry City on Friday in the third round of the FA Cup, looking to continue their momentum after lifting the Carabao Cup last weekend. The Red Devils have won 13 of their last 15 meetings with Coventry in all competitions, including a 3-0 victory in the FA Cup in 2015. However, Coventry will be looking to end their 43-year winless streak against United and reach the fourth round of the competition for the first time since 1998.
Coventry are currently 12th in the Championship, having won just two of their last five matches. However, they will be boosted by the return of top scorer Viktor Gyokeres, who has been out with a calf injury. United, meanwhile, are in good form, having won four of their last five matches in all competitions. They will be without Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek, who are both injured, but Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez are both available after returning from the World Cup.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 8pm GMT and will be broadcast live on ESPN. Coventry will be hoping to make the most of their home advantage and cause an upset against United. However, the Red Devils will be confident of victory and will be looking to continue their good form.
